Alaska Glacier Cap Bottled Water

It has taken about two years serving as arts director for The Soda Gallery to really figure out how things work best for our little ‘art gallery that could’. As someone who has never run an art gallery before, artistically or business wise, it has been quite the challenge figuring out the ‘odds and sods’, how things work best for us, who our target audience is and how to continue on a successful path. For us, that successful path certainly looks to continue through 2010 and beyond.
I’m really excited to grow The Soda Gallery into a cool local spot, to not only find hard-to-get glass bottled sodas from around the world, but also to make this a swell gallery space to find great ‘pop’ art, locally produced in the Dallas area and the rest of Texas. As far as I know, there isn’t a gallery space in our area of the Metroplex for fun and affordable art for people looking for cool and contemporary pop artworks.
Over the course of the last few months I’ve been working diligently to find quality pop art, from works on canvas of all sizes, to awesome (and highly collectable) handmade letterpress and silk screen prints. Below is a swell bottle cap print from local artist Kim Neiman of Studio 204 in Arlington, TX.
Kim also has a wide variety of other vintage bottle cap prints, both large and small, here at the gallery. Be on the lookout for more prints from Kim, and other print artists in the near future.
We also have on display some new mini canvases from yours truly of my on-going series of well-known musicians and hollywood screen legends, varying from 8″ x 8″ to 12″ x 12″ works on canvas, like these pieces pictured here:
You’ll continually find work like this from now on at TSG. In addition, we have some great new shows from local solo artists planned for 2010. Be sure to check back to our website and out various social network sites, like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace for additional info.
The Soda Gallery is in constant state of change and growth, and I can say on behalf of all of us that some great things are in the works for this year. It takes a lot of work, planning and a little bit of patience, but in the end it will all pay off.
